Day 1: Daily Juice/Smoothie

I got a new juicer! In celebration of the height of the season- when everything is in bloom and there’s a rainbow abundance of fresh, colorful fruits and veggies- I decided to do 21 days of freakin’-awesome juices and smoothies. I have so many recipes that are hands down delicious that I’m going to make, drink and share here.

Liver-Kidney Detox Juice
yields about 16oz
1 small beet
1/2 large cuc
1 carrot
1/2 inch ginger
2 celery stalks
Run all ingredients through your juicer. Enjoy!
Confession: My taste buds don’t get down with celery juice. It’s got a strong taste that I find overpowers many juices. It works really well in this recipe because the sweetness of fresh beets masks celery’s salty flavor.
Some benefits: Celery is a diuretic that supports our kidneys to remove toxins. Beet juice cleanses our blood and is a good source of vitamins and minerals. Carrots are good for our eyes and skin.
